Ok, so I've been trying to get ahold of some sort of legal aid to pursue xh for an increase in child support. One finally called me back today and what she told me gave me a LOT to consider.
IF xh has taken a pay-cut, to pursue this could really backfire on me to where I could actually get less child support. Now, I don't think that has occured but I have no way of knowing for sure. I know when he was married to his first xw he actually had his boss (same one he has now) "reduce" his pay, but the boss would make up the difference of the cut "under the table." I don't think his boss still operates in this manner, but again have no way of knowing. I'm tempted to call the shop (as I used to work there too) and just ask if xh has taken a pay-cut. But, the shop is small enough xh would know within minutes that I had called and I don't even know that my former boss would provide me with that information. Not wanting to get in the middle type deal.
So, now I'm faced with a big crap-shoot and not quite sure which way I should go. Somehow though, strange as it seems, while it aggravates me, I'm still doing well:) I'm calm, which in these circumstances is saying a LOT! LOL! Just wanted to give y'all an update.
Have a good day:)

can't the lawyer request copies of his paystubs and tax returns?
God could not be everywhere, so
That's the other 'fly in the ointment.' The person I talked to is not a lawyer. They can only provide me with a lawyer IF xh hires one and comes after me. Knowing how he got his lawyer, I'm sure she'd be on me in a NY minute. But, by then I've tipped my hand, so to speak and given him time to quit his job or see if his boss will do a temporary pay-cut like he did last time. I become very suspicious of everyone when crap like this happens.
I'm still expecting a call from another firm, hopefully I'll be able to get some clearer answers and, oh I don't know, maybe a lawyer too? ;) I've basically just got to make sure I've got all my i's dotted and t's crossed before I go forward with it. I had a lawyer who didn't have any teeth and I wasn't prepared for what was to come. Now I have a little more insight and know I need a shark for an attorney. So, the search continues..........

If your atty is worth their salt they can get his past pay records--a sudden drop in pay that coincides with your request for increased child support would be highly suspicious.
