He even signed a release for his pdoc to call me. We talked for a long time, she is wonderful. She even gave me, without me asking, the name of the therapists he is seeing.
She sent him to the docs office to get his liver tested (as he's been drinking so much through this & we know there is some liver damage). He will go see her again tomorrow when she knows more about his body & what to give him.
I'M SO EXCITED!!!
Oh, we even talked about the OW briefly & the pdoc said, 'makes you wonder what type of mental problems she is suffering as this is not a rational relationship.'
Who knows what will become of us, but he has finally sought treatment for himself & admitting his illness. Either way it will most likely be good for him.
She asked if I had any tips to get him inpatient. I told her I've been trying for two months so I don't have a clue.

Bonnie, that is so wonderful! I hope he does well on the meds.
Take care,
Lori
Hi Bonnie,
When I was first hospitalized for mania and put on meds, I was put on an anti psychotic and it worked wonders. My thoughts cleared, my mania was halted...sometimes an a/p med works better than a stabilizer for me, in bad episodes. Do you know the name of the one he is taking?
I'm glad things are on track for your H. Its a huge step just acknowledging the BP and getting help. Your life changes at that point.
Keep us posted.
Hugs,

Bonnie...that is good news !!
God could not be everywhere, so
The pdoc told me the name of it, but she was giving me so much information very fast as she had a patient coming in that I don't remember it. It seems like it started with an A. I think it depends on his liver as to what she'll actually give him a prescrip for today.
H told me she said he should start feeling better in about 1 week on it.
I'm getting scared now. Fearing he'll come out of this & still decide not to come home.
She did give me her number so if I ever want to talk to her I can. It seemed like she felt it was important for me to know what is going on with his treatment. She seemed very excited he signed the release for her to talk with me.

Its probably Abilify...which is a really good med...I know several people that have had success with it...one of my best friends absolutely swore by it...
I know you're scared...its the not knowing...its awful.
Hang in there, and keep us posted. Remember we're here for you.
Love and Hugs,
