Finances force a Neurontin experiment

My mood stabilizer is Neurontin, which has worked better for me than any other. At $115 for 90 capsules (my month's supply), it is not ridiculously expensive, but not exactly cheap, either. I just applied for a drug card, but I don't know when I will get that. My next supply will have to be paid for out-of-pocket, since I have no coverage other than Medicare right now. My new husband and I don't have any money to spare, so this is not an easy thing to pay for. SO,
I am trying an experiment, which may not be totally healthy for me. The doc said I should take 2-3 capsules a day, and I usually take three. As it will save me a lot of money, I am going to try a lot harder to stick to two. I don't know what might happen, and I don't know if what I am doing is terribly stupid or not. I can't even check with the pdoc, because he is on vacation.
What else should I do?

Personally, I think it sounds like a good plan. If your pdoc says to take 2-3 a day, go with the lesser amount and see what happens. It should save some money. BUT, keep an eye on yourself and go back up to 3 if that is what you need, OK?
