Anxiety! New to me...

I'm having a serious problem with anxiety which is rather new to me. I am unable to go up to anyone's desk right now and I become anxious if anyone approaches mine. I want to be left entirely alone and the sight of anyone near starts me up. I am even having troubles with people walking by my desk and the sight of a supervisor makes me jumpy. Pdoc suggested more xanax but the pill is so addictive I am reluctant to up it. I already take 2mg's at night. My OB told me if I ever wanted to get PG again (NOT) I would have to go off everything. Even if I WANTED to get PG again I couldn't go off the meds. I'd end up dead. It's difficult to get that through to my DH. He has no understanding of the pain in caused me mentally as well as physically. I am now "gunshy" and never want to repeat the experience.
Adding to my anxiety my right ear tube seems to be loosening and causing me a great deal of pain. But I am too chicken (anxious?) to go to the doctor to have it removed. The other one didn't hurt like this. Hurts all the way down my neck now into my shoulder. But I am terrified of someone putting something (even water) in my ear! Ick!
MAN this anxiety thing is scary! Not to mention life altering! GRRRR!

Hey Jodie,

Let me give you a hint...Ativan works better than Xanax and is less addictive. I take 2 mgs at night too, and it works well. I had panic attacks ALL the time, it controls them. I still have anxiety, but if its too bad, I pop a 1 mg and it calms it...talk to pdoc about it. Its my favorite and I've taken both Xannie, and Klonopin too.

Anyway, just wanted to tell you I love you and I hope you feel better. Deep, belly breathing and grounding exercises work wonders too. If you need help on the grounding stuff, let me know.
