When the illness begins before or soon after puberty, it is often characterized by a continuous, rapid-cycling, irritable, and mixed symptom state that may co-occur with disruptive behavior disorders, particularly attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or conduct disorder (CD), or may have features of these disorders as initial symptoms. In contrast, later adolescent- or adult-onset bipolar disorder tends to begin suddenly, often with a classic manic episode, and to have a more episodic pattern with relatively stable periods between episodes. There is also less co-occurring ADHD or CD among those with later onset illness.
I was internet surfing and found this on a website. I know I had bp young and this explains the rapid cycling crap and why some people have it and some dont. Pretty interesting

I also have ADHD...and Borderline Personality Disorder...my BP "started" when I was 14, and I have the STUPID rapid cycling kind that never gives me a break.
Interesting...yes. Have heard it before...from my pdoc. So there is merit in it, as much as you can give a pdoc...lol.
:)
My bp started around 11 or 12. I remember flirting with our 31 year old neighbor and thinking I had a chance with him or some stupid bs, and I was in 5th grade...haha wtf? So I dont have a time in my life where I was not bp that would count as any sort of real person because you cant count when you are a kid as personality defining yanno? My pdoc has never "said" I was rapid cycling but she never said I was bp straight out either, just says stuff like "people with bp do blah blah blah or think blah blah blah" so its pretty much the same thing. I want to go to therapy, but its never gonna happen, there isnt a therapist within 10 miles of me and I cant take the bus there and DH cant take me and yeah...its just not gonna happen, soooo this is my therapy
Love you
