i am not trying to pry, i'm just curious as to what meds everyone takes. Also wondering about the side effects of the meds.
I take
Lexapro 10-20mg, depending on how i feel. usually take it at night because it makes me so sluggish during the day
klonopin 0.5mg supposed to be 3 times a day, but another one that knocks me out.
seroquel 400mg at bedtime, puts me in a coma just about
prolixin (just knowing as a nurse what this is makes me FEEL crazy) 3mg at bedtime. I think it gives me gas. I have taken all the other meds before, but this one is new and omg do i have gas. LOL~!~

I take Neurontin, 300 mg in the morning and 300-600 at night, usually 600. Gotta take that or I can't get to sleep at all.
I also take Geodon, 60 mg in the morning and 80 at night
I take 1 mg of ativan prn- usually find myself taking it at night
And, occasionally to sleep, I also take 20 mg Ambien
My bipolar is pretty well under control, but I still have a lot of trouble sleeping. Waah!

I only take lamictal....makes me sleepy and makes my brain think i'm hungry 24/7.
God could not be everywhere, so
I take Lithium (ext release) 450mg twice a day, Wellbutrin XL
10 mg Lexapro
100 mg Seroquel
I'm kind of "new" so I'm not sure if this is it for me or not!
i take 500mgs of depakote, 15mgs of zyprexa, 300mgs of wellbutrin, 50mgs of trazodone as needed,
I am taking Lithium (1200mg) Lamictal (200mg)but I dont think its doing anything at all and Lunesta (2mg), but my insurance wont cover Lunesta anymore either, and its the ONLY sleep med that doesnt knock me into a coma for days, so I am saving those for super manic days...and even then I dont use them sometimes, I was taking Wellbutrin(150mg) but I cant afford it and my insurance wont cover it so Im not anymore, and I dont notice much of a difference without it. The only side effects I have are from the Lithium and thats only that its hard to read because I cant really focus on the words or concentrate for very long. The Lamictal gives me a monster headache if I miss a dose though...ugh thats the worst. As for if they are working....I am not even close to stable, and I cycle incessantly but its better than before my meds...so I guess they are working somewhat, just not good enough.

Sorry I'm late. The kids were insane this week so I am just now catching up on the whole week's board.
I'm only on 40 mg Celexa (recently upped) and 1 mg Risperdal. I'm stopping the Risperdal, though. It's not really helping and it's making me frantically hungry 24/7 and too tired to function. (Yesterday I slept almost 17 hours and I was STILL tired. Happens a lot, but not so much before I was on it.) I don't have my pdoc OR tdoc yet but only a regular doc who doesn't like to prescribe meds for BP because it's not his specialty. Totally respectable and understandable. But my new tdoc has made me wait a month because of rescheduling conflicts. If she makes me reschedule again I'm going to find a new tdoc. My tdoc appt (initial) is 7 Mar and my initial pdoc appt is 14 Mar. I'm nervous, but excited. I just don't like starting over with all new docs. Since I've been in South Dakota (3 years and almost 3 months) I've had 5 different p/t-docs. Grr. I hate having to start over each time. But oh well. Better to start over and get the story straight. Problem is, story changes a little each time based on whether I'm hypomanic or depressed. Does anybody else get that problem?
Anyway... Good question, Lauren.
Take care!
