Well, I'm very, very ticked off at Blue Cross Blue Shield right now. I got a letter that I was automatically declined because of my bipolar. See, I had to apply for individual insurance as my employer (Medtronic) won't offer me insurance until I'm permanant in 6 or so months.
I love my job, my co-workers and don't want to leave. On top of that, the company helps so many people every day and that gives me a sense of fulfillment. I'm helping to make a measureable difference in the lives of others.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? Is it even legal for them to do it? I mean, if it was a diabetic they declined, there would be a huge hue and cry by the public. But since it's mental illness... The state health office gave me a couple phone numbers to call to see if BCBS could even do that to me. They also gave me a ton of numbers to call for services on a sliding scale.
Any advice on finding my meds for low cost? I'm on lamictal, wellbutrin SR (generic), and celexa (generic).
