I haven't read any of your posts...but I wanted to write my post about my feelings first, before I did...okay, first off...BAM, I got pissed quick, just because of the content of the show...but then, of course, I got curious about the mom, and watched about 10 minutes of her part of the show. And OMG. I am a LOT like her...except that I don't hit or choke my kid...and I don't yell as much...but when she was describing her FEELINGS, it was me dead on. I do feel like a failure as a mom...and I have told my kid I hated him, etc., in a rage. But he's done the same thing to me, in one of his one rages. Two BPs raging back and forth can either be funny to watch, or hell on earth, depending on what your moods are at the time. So, I watched it, almost dumbstruck...until she got to the point that Dr. Phil was going to "help her". Then I stopped. For God's sake, is he a freaking miracle worker now??? I'm sorry, if he is, and he did cure her, I'm happy for her...but it just really pissed me off that she was off meds, and portrayed to be so freaking mentally ill and now Dr. Phil is an angel of God. I'm sorry, but that's my take on it. Maybe I should have watched the rest of the show. I'll go read your posts now.
As for the man...I didn't even go there. DID NOT even go there.
Then, after all that...I turn over and watch Judge Mathis...love that show...well, the first guy he had on there was suing this girl...he described her as unpredictable, "showing her breasts" fun one minute, then screaming at customers the next...Judge Mathis then actually said, that's not unpredictable, that's BIPOLAR. And they all had a nice little laugh about it. OMG. I was so mad.
WTF.

And yeah!!! Why did that chick go off her meds??? I think she said something like they didn'nt work or something...but dang!
Ya know...its like, people from my job...they all freaking know I have BP...cuz someone told someone and they told someone, blah blah blah...so a show like THAT does not help me any! Nobody KNOWS what BP is like already and then Dr. Phil goes and shows two people who are really freaking extremely sick off meds and the guy on the show was freaking schizophrenic! Maybe BP too, but schizophrenic for sure!
How does that help those of us who are on meds, functioning as normally as most others do except for the fact that we have mood swings and NOT TO THE EXTREME that chick did on the show? It doesn't.
My boss already told me once that if I get "agitated" and feel like I'm going to get in a argument(??) with someone, to go home, whether I have leave time or not.
This does not help.
