I guess it is hard to take a tranquel person and believe he could be violent. So many times in our past it appears he does things as an attention getter. But his disassociation with our dd is getting worse. While in psychosis last fall he barely even realized she existed. When he started taking the Seroquel she became the love of his life.

He takes Seroquel everyday EXCEPT when he drinks a lot. It scares him to drink & take the drug. His drinking is getting bad again. I've been waiting for his medication to kick in to really force the issue of his drinking. I'm hoping between his pdoc & I we can get him to take it seriously. From my NAMI class the manual states you cannot keep someone from drinking, but the chances of them quiting are much better once they are stabilized & feeling secure in life - that is why I've been waiting.

Yes, I do believe this trip he is on is the stress trigger for his current mood. He is in a very bad situation right now. His employer has placed the highest profile project this company has ever faced upon my H. While at the same time they have let him know they simply do not trust him in the least. Since returning to work they have not given him a cell phone, they have not reactivated his company CC, they have not given hin any indication they expect him to be there long. They are being absolutely horrible to him. H believes they are only keeping him around long enough to complete this project, because believe it or not he's the only one qualified to do it.

The only reason H is sticking around for it is b/c this manic episode has cost us over 30K. So he wanted to get 4 full paychecks then take out a 2nd mortgage to consolidate our loans & the new CC debt he's accrued. I've tried to talk him into looking for a new job earlier, but he's insistent on fixing what he feels he broke. I figure him completing this project & hopefully the meds kicking in his self esteem will be higher allowing him to look for the better jobs.

There was no way to keep him home from this business trip. We cannot be w/o insurance & his employer is not willing to work w/H at all. In fact there is an employee who started last January. He has sugar diabetes really bad. He has missed work on 3 occassions now, twice for his diabetes & once b/c his 2 yo drank cleaning solutions. Each time he's brought in a doctor's note - but they've warned him his job is in jepordy none-the-less. I guess with this company the only illness you're allowed to have is HIV, seeing the majority of the employee's are gay (travel industry - for some reason attract gay men ??).

I now have a week I can call his pdoc & tell him about H w/o H being around. I will try to get my nerves up high enough to do so. I've done it before, if you remember this last fall, and it turned out to our benefit, so I'll try to get myself there again.

Thank you all. It does feel nice to know that some bipolar's while delusional do hear voices. Schizophrania does not seem to describe H, but started to worry anyway.

I'll keep you up to date. I really appreciate everyone's honesty.
