Hello I was in chat on Tuesday and met a few of you. My name is Deborah and I have
lurked here for a few weeks. I was diagnosied with Bipolar after a HORRID episode of
PPD, when my last child was born in 2001. I have had many hospitalizations and many med
changes. I am currently on Lamcital, 100 mg, but going up to 200 mg and the dr gave
me a script for ambien since I don't sleep at night right now, I haven't filled it but
plan too. Anyone have expeirience with these meds.
I have hit a serious depression, some situational and some not. I don't feel particulary
safe right now and am very scared and worried about that. I see the therapist on MOnday
and am hoping to make it that long.
What else, I have 3 children ages 9,7 and 4. My Dh and i have been married for almost 12
years and I was just approved for Disabilty, after a 4 yr battle, why is that so hard?
So here is a question for you, how long after the Judge ruled did you actually get a
check? I am desperate for money right now, part of the stressor in my life.
Thanks for answering any of this and I look forward to getting to "know" you all.
Deborah

I can answer two of your questions (I think). I have taken Ambien (still take it now), and I can say, for the first little bit it works wonderfully. Now that I have taken it for a few years, it doesn't work so wonderfully anymore, but it still works to a point.
As far as SSDI, I was approved for it with no fuss whatsoever (I know, I was lucky). I started getting checks right away, and the first was retroactive to the start date of my disability. So, I predict you should be getting a nice chunk of change soon.

I can answer one of your questions. I am on lamictal now and loving it. I had been working so hard doing all the things in my WRAP and it still wasn't enough, but now i feel the lamictal has kicked and and i"ve been a steady 5 out of 10 for 8 1/2
