Adding to the drug collection

Okay, I can start seeing how the meds can become very confusing.

First of all I want to say I'm really liking this pdoc. I don't remember if I updated since H's delusional weekend. I did call the pdoc & he called w/in 15 minutes of me leaving a msg (good to know, he's responsive - next time I'll be sure to let the front desk know if it is or is not an emergency). Then he had his office call a couple of times once H returned from his business trip to try to fit him in earlier. He couldn't make the appointments, but again, pdoc trying to help out where he can.

Then during H's appointment yesterday (which I went to again) the pdoc praised H for keeping me involved in the treatment as this would be the most effective way to make sure things do not get too far again.

The sad thing is how H's work is dealing with him. In the letter they sent allowing him back to work after FMLA it stated something like, 'we expect you to keep all your doc appointments & follow their instructions.' So, he reminds his boss he has an apt at 1:30. She tells him another person is off at that time so he is needed for the help desk. (NOTE: this is a nation wide company so the employees are scattered. His boss lives in TX while we live in OR & coworkers on his team are all over the place.) H emails her back and says, 'can I not make this my lunch to meet with my psych.' She writes back, 'fine XXXX will watch the help desk, but he'll call you if an emergency arises so keep your cell on and return to the office immediately afterwards.'

WHATEVER!!!

Then today he has a virus on his computer. He was trying to run a repair for it, but needed to turn off his MSGR, browser & email for the repair. He had to run around doing phone geek stuff anyway, i.e. not going to be at his desk, so he chose this time to run the repair. When he logs back into MSGR his boss is right there complaining of his absence. He told her of the virus. She tells him if it's not fixed by Friday he has to send it IT dept. Hmmm, the IT dept is the guy who sits next to H & this guy has been watching H & is amazed and the stuff H has done to try to remove this virus. Before this new IT person came aboard my H was basically IT, even though it was not on his job title. My H is probably better at computers than he is phones & his boss knows this!

I cannot wait until he gets a little self esteem back & get a new job. I think this situation is not helping his illness at all.

OKAY DRUGS !!

Pdoc scorned H for drinking. H said he drinks to calm his anxieties (which are really bad right now) so pdoc prescribed Adavant. So far so good. I know 2 nights, but H was starting to drink daily. We need to rejoice in the achievements sometimes.

Pdoc told H he could do what he wanted with the Seroquel (as long as it is consistent). But made a prescrip for 25mg so H can perhaps take it during the day & wean down.

He is now taking Geodon(sp) at nighttime to replace/supplement the Seroquel.

He came to the front desk to make sure my H scheduled his next appointment next week. Last time he told H 3w & I don't know if the front desk misunderstood H or what, but they made it for 5 weeks. This was something pdoc & I had talked about on the phone. (Again, liking this pdoc!) So we go again next Tue. I've told H I would like to continue to go, even for the first 5 minutes, to give my observations. So far H has asked me to stay for the duration.

For those who know ... it appears my sister has made a remarkable recovery. So remarkable I'm starting to question her intentions. I'm having a hard time calling her right now. She's my best friend, but if her intentions were only to manipulate her H (STBX) I feel like its one of those situations where a partner tells the judge their STBX sexually abuses only to gain full custody of the kids .... it makes it harder for others to believe the 'real' cases. A cry wolf community wide.

Thanks again for everyone's support here. My NAMI class ended tonight and I'm feeling pretty sad about it. It was nice to have friendly faces to talk about these issues. We're forming a support group so we will continue to see each other once a month. But I didn't realize how much I enjoyed the weekly contact.

Hey Bonnie,

I'm glad the appt went well. I'm also glad H got on Geodon. I would definitely keep those 25 mg Seroquels around though. I have some myself. I took one just 2 days ago. When you get VERY agitated, or upset, or manic, they work miracles.

Hugs!
