Hi everyone, i'm Nita. my psych nurse wants to try me on Seroquel. i am taking 10 mg lexapro for depression. i researched Seroquel and the info i have seen says its for Bipolar I. does anyone else here with Bipolar II take Seroquel and if so has it helped? sometimes, i feel like a guinea pig, trying all these drugs!!

Nita,

I haven't been on Seroquel, but wanted to let you know that I read your post. I can relate to the rollercoaster of meds (the "med-go-round" as we call it on another board) I hope you find what you need here

hi nita and welcome. i was on seroquel for a while and at first it seemed to work somewhat but then my pdoc started jumping around the doses of it along with other meds at the same time so we never knew what med(s) were working and what ones weren't. since then i have gotten a new pdoc and am on different meds now. i think if i gave the new pdoc a chance with the seroquel she could probably find a therapeutic dose but i had such a bad experience with the med with the former pdoc i wanted to try something totally different. and so far so good. i'm on 500 mgs of depakote, 15 mgs of zyprexa and 25 mgs of topomax. the topomax is only to counter the weight gain from the zyprexa, but i've been stable for a couple of months now.

long story short, each person responds to different meds in different ways. what works for me may not work for you and vice versa. i wish you every success with the seroquel. it is a good med, it just wasn't right for me.

Hi, My doctor just recently perscribed Lexapro 10mg and Seroquel 25mg in the evening. I was actually feeling more depressed while on both and was having some horrible nightmares from the Seroquel so after reading up on it and what other's experienced I decided just to take the Lexapro for now and see what happens. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, but do believe I have mild bipolar disorder and ADD. I've heard Seroquel is a good med though, good luck!
