Day 4 without a cigarette. I had my last one on Thursday night and thought that in honor of the holiest day in the Christian year, Good Friday, I would abstain from smoking. I also had it in the back of my mind that if I could make it thru Friday, perhaps I could make it thru Saturday, as well.
So here it is, Day 4. The first 3 were actually easier. I think that's because I got up and dressed this morning, got my kids out to school, got in my car to drive to work - and didn't light up. That would have been my first, and probably most enjoyable, smoke for the day. For most smokers, that first one of the day is the best!!!!
So now I'm in my office and a bit shaky but I think I can do this. I ran about 17 miles over the weekend (not at one time, in total!!!) and that helped. As I shared before, my main motivation in quitting is that its seriously impacting my running. DUH. Dya think?????
Anyhows, I just needed to share this somewhere and I hope you all won't mind. If anyone has done this before and has any helpful hints on how to make it thru the next 2 or 3 days (I've heard days 3-5 are the most difficult!) without becoming homicidal, I'd appreciate it!
Love, Mo.

YOU GO GIRL !!!!!
God could not be everywhere, so
non-smoker here.....WTG!! Day 4 leads to day 30...chew gum, pop in a tic-tac (that's how my mom quit).......put away that money for a reward for yourself every week ;O)
((hugs))
Mo-
You can do this. Keep up the good work.

Hey Tina! I'd have to agree given that I've been clean and sober 3 1/2 years now. This addiction is, for some reason, alittle tougher to kick. Using the 12 steps, though, and praying. Thanks for your support!!!! Love, Mo.

I like this idea! I "deserve" a reward, doncha think????? Thanks for your support! Love, Mo.
Mo, just wanted to say congrats on Day 4! You can do this! I can't speak from experience, but I have heard that this is one of the hardest addictions to kick...but also one of the best, in terms of the benefits you get from quitting. I know your running must be benefitting too.
Just wanted to let you know you have my support all the way.
