Day #5 goes A-OK! Actually better than day #4, when I became a homicidal raging lunatic after dinner last night :( Better today. I have a big bottle of water and a pack of some yummy spearmint gum and hot tea. Cutting back on the coffee.

Thanks for asking, Donna. It's much better than yesterday. Love, Mo.

for me, not great. i had a big slip and now have to start all over. however, i've not given up on quitting. i find that each time i attempt it the quit gets easier. this last attempt was by far the easiest yet. once i get my mindset back where it needs to be i'll start the quit again. the experts have said the only thing harder to quit than smoking is quitting heroin. i've never done heroin, but i know how hard it is to give up cigarettes. ugh!

so one more practice quit under my belt and one more closer to the "real" quit. i'm not perfect and i finally can stop beating myself up over such things. while i let myself down, i now can move on and that's a good feeling.

mo that's excellent news! keep up the fantastic work:) once i recover from my slip, i'll begin again. i'm going to my alanon meeting tonight and i usually draw inner strength from that so hopefully i'll be back on track by the day's end.

way to go on day 5! that's awesome:)

you are not allowed to beat yourself up about this...it is a proven fact it takes a couple tries before quitting for good.

Here's some magic dust to help you resume that quit!!!!

There are probably 2 reasons that make my quit easier than the average quit: 1) I use the 12-step program which helped me give up drugs, so yeah, although I've never done heroin, I've done alot of other drugs, and giving up these butts is more difficult!, and 2) I've only been smoking for about 5 years, and for the past 6 months I've only been smoking about 5 or 7 cigs a day. I think that places me in the category of light smoker.

It's GOT to be easier for me to quit than someone who's been smoking at least a pack a day for 25 years (just as an example).

You keep it up as well. Even the reduction in smoke is, I'm sure, good for your lungs!

Love and magic non-smoking dust blowing at ya! Mo.
