It went well. He went over what classes and credits I already have. I have 44 credits so far and need 16 more to graduate, which is

Best of luck to you in finishing school, Tina. I was lying awake thinking of that myself last night. I already have a BA, an MM, and lots of education coursework, but I've never student taught. I am in the process of getting a teaching certificate for New York state, but am afraid I will need to student teach before I get one in Ontario. That would mean a year of school at least...probably away from my husband.
You know, don't get me wrong, I love my husband more than anything, but he has really thrown a monkey wrench into my career plans. I can now teach almost anywhere in the states, but can't leave him in Canada. It's hard to get into ed school in canada, so I would need to go in the states, and disrupt our marriage. I know it'll work out eventually- he wants me to have the career of my dreams, it's just not easy...

Tina,
That's great news!
Tina, good for you for seeing the academic advisor. It sounds like you know exactly what you need to do to get where you want to go. I'm glad you have set your sites on your masters. I myself don't think I could do it and copped out of an honours (4yr) B.A. and took a 3yr instead. Now I'm on my second B.A. It would have been better for me to spend that extra year getting my honours than getting a second B.A. I don't think this puts me any further ahead.
Good luck in your classes.
