Hi there...when I was taking a lot of Lithium (a lot to ME anyway, 900 mgs is NORMAL), I felt HORRIBLE too...VERY VERY tired, couldn't stay awake for anything...I felt like this anchor was strapped on my back...I had NO energy whatsoever. Dunno about temps, cuz it was winter, lol. I went down to 600 mgs, still felt bad...and finally, 300 mgs in my magic number. At night. HOWEVER, PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOUR DOCTOR's HELP AND OKAY!!! I'm on TWO OTHER mood stabilizers as well!
So, in answer to you question...yes, I know how it feels to feel yucky on Lithium...but Lithium also saved my life!
It never messed up Thyroid levels though...
The side affects DO level off eventually...they don't start off right away, as you know...but they do level off eventually in most people. I gained a lot of weight on it...so that was another concern.
You gotta weigh the good against the bad. At one time, Lithium was my ONLY med and it really did save me. I loved it. And if I have to one day, I'll go back on it as quickly as I can. Its that good.
Hang in there! Just work VERY closely with your pdoc, and remember that this is a GUESSING game, unfortunately. You gotta be patient.
Keep posting!
Hugs,
Keli
