do you think i'm bipolar?

Really I've just been pretty depressed for about... 6 months. I've had trouble getting out of bed, crying, lack of concentration, unable to do anything, wasn't talking at all, had to drop out of college. Then I started on wellbutrin, then zoloft, then lexapro. On the wellbutrin I was kind of silly for awhile and felt really good, but then it stopped working. I didn't think much of it, until I had a manic reaction to lexapro. Last weekend I was talking non stop, repeating everything I was saying, jumping around, singing, buying things online, coming up with nicknames for everyone... naming my silly self "gem" (i'm meg...) I don't think I'm two people or anything but I really just lost it. Anyway, my doctor told me to stop taking it- which I did on Monday. I was back to my depressed self on Friday/Saturday- then Saturday night at 11:00 pm it kicked in again. I was on such a high I didn't fall asleep until 5 AM and woke up at 7 ready to go! I started to come back down though and today I haven't bene feeling so great. Oh, and I've noticed a lot of irritability/angriness too. Anyway, my problem is that the doctor said I should have been fine by Thursday but it kept going! I'm worried I might be bipolar... I'm going to talk to my doctor again tomorrow but I was just wondering what you all think since you've had a lot of experience with it. Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi Meg and welcome to the board. While none of us here are psychiatrists or therapists, from the symptoms you describe, I would suggest that you make an appointment with your family doctor to get a referral to a psychiatrist or a therapist. A psychiatrist (pdoc) will be able to effectively diagnose you and prescribe meds for you. A therapist (tdoc)
Hi and welcome
I was going to say pretty much what Traci already said.
Please keep us posted and know you are welcome any time !!
God could not be everywhere, so
I'm playing catch up and wanted to say welcome.
I definitely agree you need a referall to a psychiatrist for a proper dx--your reaction to the AD's is quite common with BP, but only somebody really trained properly is able to determine that--way too many GP's prescribe psych meds without a clear understanding of what they are doing IMHO!
Please feel free to post in the meantime and let us know how things are going.
