Has anyone had experience with seroquel? I've only taken it once last night and then again this morning and maybe I'm just reacting to losing the highs but I just feel so depressed. Is this normal? Is that was treatment of bipolar is like, getting rid of the highs but learning to just deal with the depression? I'd rather have the mania back.

Marci maybe you're right and I was just down anyway plus the seroquel makes you drool and practically unconscious in a matter of minutes! I was finally back up again at 9:30 but then I had to take another 100 mg just a few mintues ago so I'm sure it won't be long till I'm out. Anyway, I guess I'll just see how the weekend goes. If I stay depressed the entire time that wouldn't be normal, but I see my pdoc again Monday morning anyway. Thanks for your help! Meg

I totally agree. I am in a depression episode right now, that I can't get out of...

I want my mania back. And yes, Seroquel ALWAYS brought me down big time. But that is why they gave it to me too...too knock my extreme manic down.

Keli- when you're depressed and know that seroquel will just bring you down further do you still take it? I know you're probably supposed to, but I just never want to when I'm down already...

Nope...what i did though, was call my pdoc (i call her all the time) and tell her how it made me feel...there are SOOOOOOO many meds out there for BP that you can take in place of the seroquel. You don't have to feel so horrible ON the meds. You have to realize that YOU are in charge of what you put into your body. You can say no.

Love and Hugs honey...
