Hi Markscloud, I've missed your posts. Thanks for the positive and encouraging vibes and well done on 4 mths NC!

I can hear your concern for your friend and I'm sure Miss Lulu will be fine. Many homes in ChCh are still without power and toilets and people are working hard to put their lives back together - she will hopefully be in touch with you soon. Most of the casualties and deaths involved young Asian students at the English language school. If you have her real name a quick Google search will tell you if she is on the missing persons list. Hi MC, I was thinking about you today and was happy to see your check in post. I hope Miss Lulu is safe and sound and after seeing Kats reply to you that it gives you some comfort of why she has not been posting. Good work on reaching four months nc, you are doing an awsome job:)

Angie - your concern for Miss Lulu's emotional safety reminded me of a great book called Emergency Sex which talks about people's vulnerability to forming unsafe personal and sexual attachments in the aftermath of a natural disaster. When it feels as though the world is ending, any strong safe pair of arms will do. Well worth a read if you have a chance. (I've been involved in trying to get sexual health clinics and relationship counselling services reestablished in Christchurch after the earthquake - those emotional hazards are just as important as the physical ones.)

MC - I hope you hear from Miss Lulu soon. It's been an awful time for so many people in Christchurch and we all wish there was more we could do to help with their recovery.

That's wonderful news MC - thanks for the update!! Apparently the two most frequently asked questions in ChCh this week are "where can I get a hot shower? And where can I find a flush toilet?" I am sure
