hypothyroid not bipolar?

Okay, I know I'm sounding totally unaccepting but my hair started falling out at an alarming rate and my hands and feet are really cold. Well my mom says hypothyroid runs in the family... so I looked it up and there's some connection between thyroid problems and bipolar, I just don't get it. So is it possible that I really just have hypothyroid and not bipolar? (This is the last time I second guess it, haha)

PS- how is everyone doing? any big plans for the weekend??

Honey...

Its possible, but not likely. My pdoc told me that thyroid problems usually do come along with BP...and they don't really know all the connections, or reasons, etc. It runs in my family too, even my Dad has it...but my thyroid is fine. I'm BP.

If its really concerning you, talk to your pdoc about it.

Having BP is not a death sentence. Its a stupid freaking illness that none of us want, I hate hate hate it!!! But its my life, and I have to do what I have to do to be well. Know what I mean?

You're young...and you have your whole life ahead of you...make the most of it. Stay on meds, get stable, and live your life.

Its normal to second guess your dx. But eventually, you have to let go of that, and accept it for what it is. We're here to help you through that, okay?

Love and Hugs,
