This is the child that has been dx'd with bipolar, and also perhaps the most responsible kid of the 3.

Babe, I would be so freaked out too. I don't know what to tell you except I feel for you. Only you know what is best for you. My God! Hugs, thoughts, prayers - anything to help you through, anything at all - Kelli

Traci,

I am so glad to hear that you are taking steps to take care of yourself. Sorry I haven't been around to support you through this- I have been thinking of you and praying for you since you started posting about this.

Your daughter sounds like she totally understands your situation and really wants you to get help. I'm sure it is scary for her to "give you permission" to get help, but I'm also sure it is scary for her to see you like this. She is old enough to understand, and if she too is bp, she has empathy for your situation.

In my opinion, which may not mean anything, you are setting a wonderful example for your bp daughter. If you are brave enough and strong enough to go i/p voluntarily, you are showing her how she can help herself if she is ever in that situation. She will be more willing to seek help when she needs it if she sees you doing it.

This is going to sound really corny, but I am proud of you for taking the steps that you have so far. You have admitted to yourself and others that you need some extra help and you are keeping in touch with your support team. You are reaching out, which is hard to do. You are doing the right thing for yourself and for your family. You are very brave. I hope that you are able to get help with your children so you can take some time for yourself. It sounds like you really need to take care of yourself right now.

Hugs,
Peg
