I have to get off my meds to start ttc this fall. I dont' know if I am having PMS really bad or I am having problems getting off the meds. I'm in the middle of an across country move. Before the move i went from 200 Lamictal to 150. DH didn't notice any change. Well DH has been gone for 2 weeks and i have been ornary (sp) ever since. I ran out of the new Rx and did have $$ get refill it so i just took my DH's 100s. I swear the next day I was so freaking irritable and tired. I want to get off these meds so i can try to have another baby. I am also getting off Risperdal 1mg which has been lowered and I dont' know if we are lowering my Lexapro yet. In a way i would like to stay on that one as long as possible. I was on Zoloft while pg with ds. If I can't get off these meds and stay sane then We will have to adopt I guess. I just feel like there is another child to come to my home. Please let me know if any of you have gone through these or ahve any advice!

((((((((April)))))))))) I've never been on bp meds while pg. I was dx'd long after my children were born. My only suggestion to you would be to seriously discuss this with your dh, pdoc and gyn. The docs will be able to advise you from a medical aspect and your dh will be able to support you in your decision.

From the sounds of it, your body is not responding favorably to your going off the meds. Perhaps there's a milder med that you can take or even a natural one while you are ttc? Just my .02.

i was told to just stop my meds when i decided to get pg but of course THAT was 12 years ago.cumatively over the next 7 or so years(without treatment) my situation deteriorated.i was then given meds i could take while breastfeeding.
BUT
i was hospitalized a year or so ago & my doc told me that bipolar women could be treated w/ certain meds succesfully DURING pg.
check into it.

there could be so many different reasons you are not feeling right/irritable.

Thanks ladies. I am feeling less stressed and upset right now. I hope it really was PMS. I need to look up a new pdoc in Louisville before i move there. Now I just need to get over this tiredness! Thanks again!
