PDoc Called Back - Inderal anyone?
| Fri, 07-21-2006 - 6:18pm |
My soon-to-be new resident called me back a few minutes ago. She had a name for what I'm feeling but I couldn't hear her very well. It started with an "a." Anyhow, she's giving me Inderal. I've never heard of that before. Has anyone here been on it?

Hi Morgaine ~
I think the term might be "apathetic" that's a favorite term for pdocs and tdocs. Kinda means you're indifferent mood wise.
Traci,
I love my Ambien. Sleep makes a huge difference for me. Just don't take it and not lay right down and close your eyes. If I stay awake I have conversations with dh that I truly do not remember. Once I fell asleep during some, er, marital relations... About another 15 minutes or so and dh will have finished his last class and I can call him. We were going to go get me a new vehicle tomorrow morning but, instead, I have to drive to the city to get my new prescription. Right now I'd rather have the medicine than a new vehicle. I feel so "antsy." Argh! The new resident sort of hit me wrong. I hope she's not a mean one. I'm trying to get better. *sighs*

Morgaine,
Thanks for the heads up about the ambien. Pdoc did tell me I need to make sure I have 8 to 9 hours I can devote to sleep so I don't have that sleep hangover happening. I hope that and the zyprexa increase work.
I hope that your new resident turns out to be a good one. You deserve a good one. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you on the inderal.
It's a beta-blocker, used for high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, angina & migraine prevention.
I did some research on the Internet. Apparently Inderal is used to treat anxiety (particularly performance anxiety and panic attacks). Anyhow, I had my prescription filled this morning and, so far, it does seem to help some. The real test will be when I go back to work on Monday.
