A tidbit learned in counseling

It certainly has been awhile since I've posted but I do read a lot and put in my 2 cents when I have something to add. I wanted to share something today I learned. As many of you know, I ended my marriage a little over a year ago. I had a brief A with someone last year and then came to terms with both relationships and ended both. Well, some regression has occurred. Not with AP but with ex H

Sunshine, this is a great post. Taking control of my thoughts, reclaiming the space inside my head as a space which belongs to ME, and deliberately evicting thoughts of xAP as unwanted trespassers, has been so important in successfully ending my A. Such a change from being hostage to my own thoughts!

Thanks for sharing your T's insights, and I look forward to hearing how your new plan works out.

Thanks for that post Sunshine. That is some amazing advice and reiterates all that is said on this board. I am at a terrible low right now regarding ME... not just the A, not just my M....but ME. I overanalyse everything and thinking is all I seem to do. My head is so cloudy with the past and I am finding it very hard to look forward to the future. I know what I NEED to do, but am not sure HOW to start getting there and just DOING. Learning to focus on positives is a process that takes a lot of time given that I have been overwhelmed with the negatives I have chosen for myself and inflicted on my innocent unknowing family. I will continue and am in the midst of seeking outside help. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Have a great day :)

(((healing))) hang in there.... it does get better and you will get through this. Just turn off the over analyzing wheels for a bit. Got a hobby you love or want to develop?

I liked how you said that about how we are a "hostage" to our own thoughts. Evict Evict!! lol. great analogy.

Big hugs and stay strong!

((((nvrsay))) yes that thinking is what gets me in trouble too...seems harmless but it's not. It keeps it alive. change focus - or do something you have always wanted to do but never did. See what happens.
