Diagnosis today...

I went to my GP today to find out what is up with this darn Fibro flare that's getting worse and worse...well, I don't have Fibromyalgia, or RA...but I do have Multiple Sclerosis...the Recurring-Remitting kind...which, thankfully, isn't the "worst" kind. I kinda knew that all along, but didn't want to really believe it. I was really scared yesterday, but today, after seeing the doctor, and his reassuring me that I would be okay and not crippled or anything in five years, I feel better about it.

I have to take VERY good care of my body now...I have to do some form of stretching every day, whether I want to or not. I also have to start walking again...even if I only do 15 minutes at a time.

I also have to stay as stress free as possible (yeah, right) and stay OUT of the heat...and I live in Florida. :)

Heat makes it worse...as do barometric pressure changes in the atmosphere.

Sometimes, Neurontin or Topamax is rx'ed for RRMS, and I will begin on Topa again on the 1st. Looking back, I didn't have these "flares" as much when I was on 200 mgs of Topa...so I'm going back on that...have to call pdoc.

As for the pain, just have to take Tylenol or Ibuprofen. I do not want to become dependent on pain meds. I've dealt with it for 2 years now already, so what's the point.

I have to go tomorrow for blood work...a full metabolic series and white blood cell count. Ugh. I'm terrified of needles.

Anyway, my fingers haven't been cooperating with me, so I can't post to you all separetly...Just know I love you all.

We are strong...we will get through.

Girl, Stop getting sick. I am glad it isn't the severe MS. It is bad enough though what you do have. Did he say how to cope with this? Is the GP putting you on Topamax?

If you find a way to stay stress free, please let me now how, ok. Your going to have to move to Alaska now...no more FL heat.

Good luck with your blood work...don't be a baby...go stick your arm out like a brave girl;)

I hope you get some relief soon. Take care of yourself.

Love U---Tina

((((((((Keli))))))))) I'm sorry to hear the dx, but glad it was finally nailed down for you. I know how troublesome it's been for you. Now it can be treated and hopefully you can get some relief. I know I'm waiting for my relief to set in, but I doubt that'll happen 'cause my meds can't seem to get right. But, that's just me.

I hope you start feeling better soon.

Keli,

I sure hope the dx means proper treatment and more help--Lord knows you deserve it!

Keli-

What if you took up yoga? I bet that would help destress you and get your stretching in.

I'm going to hope for the best for you!! Maybe with topomax or neurontin you'll feel GREAT with both BP and your new diagnosis.

I really hope you start feeling better soon.
