I just read an interview with a trainer who works with the President's family ...

Do you think that have a leader who is fit and focuses on fitness is important to get the country thinking about fitness?

Have you participated in any cross-country fitness challenges like the one's below?

I agree that it is important to be fit. But given the economy right now, I don't think that people are more concerned about that instead of the physical fitness of the first family.

I would have to be honest and say that the first family's fitness is the last thing on my mind right now. I think had times been different it would be a big influence on others but right now, I'm not sure anyone is really paying attention.

I think it's important for a leader (of any country since I am not in the US) and the family to be fit.

Being fits certainly projects a nice, positive image but my main concern is fixing problems and getting things done that will make this a stronger, more prosperous country.

I would rather we have a "fit" economy (and for our troops to come home)

I believe with a fit economy more people would be working at decent paying jobs and therefore not forced by economics to eat less expensive & often times more fattening foods. If people are making decent money they will be able to afford healthy foods and gym memberships and overall feel better about themselves.

The economy is what I believe will make a stronger impact on a healthier country than how the first family lives their life.

You know Vanessa, that's such a good point about having a fit economy impacting a person's health. I suppose a fit economy would also alleviate a lot of the stress people are feeling, improve sleeping habits due to reduced stress, which ALL affects our physical health!
