I spoke with the college financial aid person yesterday and she told me that my aid has been approved!!!! So I am now officially registered in 2 courses for the fall quarter. I'm going to see how well I handle the 2 and then I may bump it up to 3 in the winter quarter. I'm anxious to get my degree as soon as possible, but I don't want to overwhelm myself either because to do that has disaster written all over it.

I'm so glad to hear that--financial aid is SO crucial to many of us and the current administration has put so many limitations on it!

Know what you mean about exams, DD unbelievable has her 1st today!

I am so happy for you. I know what it is like to work to get your financial aid back...btdt. This is wonderful news. You will like Sociology. I took that and it was so much fun.

Traci that's great news! When do classes start? What is your degree in? Is it a certain time in US History? I always loved everything up to the civil war but after that I never got into it. To each his own. I hope everything goes well, let us know!!

Hi Meg,

To my slight disadvantage classes began on August 21st. But I'm going to do my darndest to get caught up as soon as I get my books. To my advantage, the History course textbook is online so I had immediate access to that. The sociology course is what I'm waiting on. The History goes from the 1600's up through the Civil War. I'm majoring in Psychology so I should be taking a lot of interesting courses in the near future. I'm curious to see what, if any, of my previous credits from the school I transferred out of they allow me. If most of them transfer I should be in good shape as far as the courses left that I need to take. I'll still have a fair few to take, but hopefully not as many as a "freshman" would. Right now, based on the credits from my previous school I should be considered a "junior". We'll see what the college has to say about it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. But as much trouble as I've had I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high. I'm hoping to get enough credits with this school so that I can transfer to a 4-year college and complete my degree. I'm ultimately going for a Masters in Social Work, but I've got a ways to go yet.
