Okay, so I cut my Risperdal down to 1 mg from 2 mgs, and I do feel a lot better today. So I guess I'll stick with it...I've learned a lesson (that I should really have known by now) -- DO NOT GO OFF YOUR MEDS!!! Well, at least that is my personal mantra. Its disastrous for me.

I read the book, An Unquiet Mind, by Kay Redfield Jamison. If you guys haven't read it yet, you should.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi.

Good morning! Peg and I both read that book and weren't too impressed with it. It glossed over a lot but since there is so few literature, I guess it's better than nothing!

Take care, Kelli

There are other books on BP but they can be really triggery.

That book was good in that it shows that you shouldn't go off your meds. That your illness can be controlled "more easily" if not completely, by taking the meds. That yes, we get the manic highs, but they always crash into suicidal lows.

We don't have to live like that.

I will check out that book when I go on my break from school. Right now I am reading too much for this class. There are so many good books out there to read. We need to take what info helps us and applies to us from each book and leave the rest. Going off meds is not a good thing for any BP but people have to decide for themselves. I for one will stay on my meds. I rather be a little nuts with them, than a lot nuts without them.
