Zoloft Withdrawal

Has anyone else experienced this? I've been pretty stable for about a year now. My pdoc said I could stop zoloft because I was unhappy with the sexual side effects. She said Lamictal worked better on depression for bp's anyway and I'm on that also. She told me to taper off (I was on 100 mg) so, of course, I stopped taking them cold turkey. Its been a couple weeks now and I'm thinking that was a big mistake. At first I was just dizzy and had insomnia. Today I was actually shaking, sweaty, and sick to my stomach. I told them at work I thought I had a fever (and I did think that). When I got home I took my temperature and its normal. Dh is the one who suggested withdrawal and suddenly it all made sense. I'm shaking as I type. My teeth are chattering. I'm not depressed but this is all most unpleasant. Does anyone have any idea how long this lasts? If I'm still this way on Monday I think I'll have to take a pill just so everyone at work doesn't think I have bubonic plague or something. That's how bad it was today. I could barely talk. It was most embarrassing. What if taking a pill doesn't fix it? Surely it will go away soon.

That's terrible. I stopped taking Zoloft cold turkey about 5 years ago, I wasn't on it as long as you, only about 3 -4 months. I didn't experience anything like that. I'd call a pharmacist or your pdoc and see what they suggest.
Good luck.

call the doc & explain your mistake & ask her what to do now.
Morgaine,
I'd call the doc (or even your pharmacy) and ask how to handle it--I know darn well you are not the only one whose done this, so just own up to the goof!
calling the pharmacist is a wonderful idea.you shouldn't wait till monday.
