Oh my.
And Blessings right back at ya Luvin!
What an incredible post. How sincere, heartfelt and so very meaningful to each and every one of us as we go through this journey of healing. My H says these things to me all the time... he
For many months I had wanted, and tried, to end my A but it always seemed too hard. The deciding moment, the instant when I found the courage to take the plunge, was when I sat with a beautiful seven year old girl before she went into brain surgery to have two lobes of her brain removed to try and prevent her epilepsy from killing her. I looked into her eyes and saw such purity, such courage, such love, such trust that every "problem" in my life just fell away and I knew in that moment that I was ready to recommit to a life of honesty and joy and giving.
Luvin, I'm sending you and your sister my heartfelt thoughts and healing wishes. Kia kaha (Maori for "stay strong")

Luvin,
You and I came up together, Girl, so I know you know my heart when I say that I'm sending you and your sister the most sincere and deepest respect and love, and prayers for a quick and full recovery.
If ever a poem could describe you - it is this:
PHENOMENAL WOMAN
by Maya Angelou
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing of my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can't see.
I say
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
The palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Luvin,
Sorry to read about your sis.
Whether you think you can or you think you can't you are probably right. A parrot can repeat what it has learned but the mark of true intelligence is applying what is learned.
Thank you.....thanks to all who responded. I am most thankful. I will let my sister know that you all wish her the best and that she is in your prayers.
