Well I went today to the CA doc. My bestfriend went to him when they found her breast CA. He is proavtive, which I like. He is arranging the cancer gene test and a 2 others. His is tryin to keep me local when I have the blood tests. But he said that I am extremely high risk so He might have to send me out of town. That woulde be pittsburg or johns hopkins probably. But I would like to stay local. Fior gods sake all they have to do is draw the blood and fedex it out. So I am hoping so. He has given me 2 options if it somes back positive, preventitive chemo or radiation or double mastectomy with reconstructive with a few possible chemo or radiation treatments. Well I already voiced my wishes and it would be reconstructive surg. I just want peace of mind. i dont want to wait around waiting for cancer to attack me. And what if it did happen a few years from now and god forbid I didn't have insurance when it happend. I can't go thru all that. He said that he should have an answer for me by they end of the week as to where I can go to get it done. But now that I have to wait for that means that I probably cant book a ticket to goto new orleans to see DH for my b-day weekend. Oh well, it's not like I can't go another weekend.

Anyway here is my contribution to the 50,000 posts.

Hey Jo! What an extraordinary approach to your care! Thinking everything through and even factoring in the future at such a scary time. And the forethought about insurance, that was brilliant!
Many hugs to you - please keep us posted!! Kelli
