I always feel bad when someone loses their job, but you know what? In this case I am doing the happy dance because I *know* how much quicker you are going to heal now......and with TweenerVille right around the corner...well, YIPPEE!! :smileywink:

What I would have given to have had Xmm sell this damn company several years ago when he had the chance. He wanted out, but no one wanted the financial mess it was in. It has only gotten worse over the years, so who knows. I may be in the unemployment line by the end of the year...but you know what? THAT'S OKAY.

You have been given a new lease on life. Embrace his loss as your good fortune because a huge burden has been lifted from your shoulders, whether you were aware of it or not. Just watch how much lighter you are going to feel in a couple of weeks.

I do feel sadder as the news is sinking in - but, I think it's also because i knew the 9 others as well and just feel depressed generally for all of them.

I came back from lunch and I feel better sitting at my desk - no more mixed angst anticipating/dreading running into him in the lobby/elevator.

Iddy - i do hope I feel better in a few weeks.

Nvr - if you feel like mourning for those other 9 - feel free - but I want you to know, that with time and distance this will all just change. i don't know how else to explain it. It DOES change. I got up and did the happy for you today too.....

Lolly,

Thank you. I KNOW you're right and I AM so thankful that this burden has been lifted.

Coming back from lunch and not having to worry about a run-in, I realized that I HAD been totally stressed every time I went out of my office because of that looming chance-encounter. But, NO MORE!!! Truly NC now instead of LC!!!

I have enormous admiration for all of you who maintain LC. That must require a greater degree of courage and determination than I can even begin to imagine. Never, I'm so proud of you making it this far and I'm so happy for you that you can now move on without the shadow of a looming chance-encounter.

I do not know who you are or why you come and state such things about this board. This board is full of selfless people. While not happy 9 people lost their jobs, it's not her fault. People are losing their jobs everywhere. And to her it may be a gift. She may have needed this to help her move on. You do not know what this person put her thru in the workplace and you may not know how that feels. Please also not the many, many, success stories here. People who come back here years later, thankful for this board. Miss Benett just posted that thread today. Your off in you assessment of the board. I am sorry that you have come with this negativity.

Glad you feel better with this. I understand the sadness too though - it will in effect be another loss in a way. BUT NC now - fab.

We are restructuring at work and it may be xap will move to being a coworker rather than my immediate manager. Baby steps lol!!

It is indeed sad that so many people were laid off but sadly it's part of our world today and nobody's fault. I'm sure we all hope and pray that every person who has lost an income will find one again.
That said....
Our personal battles getting past something so soul destroying as an affair is something we all know about here on EAS. I'm pleased for nv that she no longer has to see her exAp every day. I can't even imagine how hard that will be.
Initial relief will turn into genuine hope that these laid off people ( including exAP) will find work. But that doesn't take away from that initial rush of relief that her healing journey can now move forward at a much faster rate.
