Hello ,I am Raindrop and I am very new to this board.Last year I was diagnosed with severe Depression and BP-disorder. Du a severe tragedy I ended up in the hospitals for over 8 weeks.I was given ECT Treatments (10) over the period for 6 weeks. My family gave the doctors the okay for the ECT- treatments because I was not able to do so.Due those treatments I've lost my memory,it never came back. When I got home from the hospitals I had to relearn many things all over again because of my memory loss.I had to relearn how to dress ,how to eat, to speak ,to wal ect..It was a very hard and long road for me bit I've never given up.Today one year later my recovery is up to 95%.I am not all the way there yet but I know one day I will. I am in therapy for almost 11 months and I am on medication for my BP-disorder.I am doing good and I always try to do my best.I am married and I have 3 wonderful children. They are all in collage and I am at home because I can't work anymore.I have good days and not soo good days. I hope that I will find support in here and I am very thankful for that. Please take care and God bless you.Love ,raindrop/maria

Hello Maria,

I am on 20 mg of zyprexa, As far as how I deal with BP/Manic, its hard, I just try to deal with it hour to hour sometimes, and sometimes day to day. I just had a baby in May, a beautiful daughter , but I also have a 20dd and a 15dd. So my pdoc won't give me back my klonopin, till audree starts to sleep all night. Even if he did I probley wouldn't take them cause I would be afraid I wouldn't hear her.

Dealing with BP one thing that seems to help me is organization, even on the days I feel like poo[poo. I still try and keep up my daily schedule. Of course I'm a stay at home mom. Something else I try and do is stay out of the extened family's Drama, you know the BS all family"s have.
Again welcome, and someone is always here, or at least close by.

Dear Shelia ,Congratulations to you new Baby :):)

I was on Zyprexa before but I had to stop it because of very bad side affects. Now I am taking Celexa 40mg for the last several months and I am very staple at this time. I deal with my BP the best way I can and I try to stay busy. All my children are grown and on their own.My older Daughter 26 is a reg Nurse, she is married and their have a 6 year old little girl :)
My Son is 25 and he lives in New York.He has just finished Collage and got a 4 year Degree in Sience. My younger Daughter 20 is still in Collage in NC. So I am all day by myself ,my husband is working :) It is still new for me that all my children are out of the house.Sometimes I have a very hard time with that.I was so used to it to be with my children. But it is getting better little by little. My computer is my hobby and I love to listen to music. If you ever need to talk I am here for you.

God bless you & your Baby - Love ,Maria

Maria, That's was a wonderful message, besides my new baby girl, I have a 20 dd who is in her first year of collage. and I also have a 15 year old dd who is in the 9th grade. Then my husband has to boy from a previous marriage 21 and 23. Then computer is about my only hobbie, cause the baby takes so much of my time. I guess me beign 42 and my dh is 50, we are a littl bit slower than we use to be. But I'm here also.

If you don't mind me asking, what were your side affects to zyprexa? I have terrible weight gain and also have developed diabeties. But my pdoc won't take me off of it. I go back to see him sat I'm going to ask him to switch me again, but he probley won't

tks a bunch

Dear Shelia,
My side affects from Zybrexa was very bad fluid retention in my legs so I had to stop.I am taking Celexa now ,have gained a little weight but it is okay with me.I rather be a little havier and happy :)
I am original from Germany ( where I've met my husband ) I live here in GA .now for almost 17 years. I am 48 years old and my husband is 54. To me age is nothing but a number lol.We are married almost 21 years and we are together for 24 years. My family is everything to me.
Please talk to your p.doctor again and let him know that you want to be on another medication . Remember ,you are the patient and you have the right to tell your p.doctor that you're having too many problems with your meds.If he is a good doctor ,he will be listening to you. Good Luck!

I also have bad fulid retenion, but yes I will speak with him again. He's a wonderful pdoc. I just wish I had found him 32 yrs ago when I lost my mother. My dad and stepmom, took me to a bunch of quack counselors. I've been told I was, add, adhd, sever depression, border line personality disorder, you just wouldn't believe. I found this doctor last year in Little Rock, arkansas. and he was right on what I had, gave me zyprexa, and I completly done a 180. My family love him and the meds.

Your right age is just a number. My husband hauls heavy equipment and is usually gone a couple nights a week, he works about 6 days a week./ He want's to make sure us girls have what we need and most of what we want. So I' sure lucky for that. We have been together almost 15 years, married 10 last nov, we both have lived in arkansas all of our lives. Oh buy the way your birthday is the same day as my middle daughter Dec 3. she will be 15.

I also have a brother in law who has been in Germany for about 30 yrs. He is retired know from the army. But says him and his family are going to stay over there. That's home to them I guess. He comes home about once a year. But his family ahs only been here once I think.

Hello Shelia,
Depression and BP-disorder is in our family ( from my mothers side ) I've found out about it very late.My husband retiered 20 years from the Military.since the last 10 years he is working as an Correction-Officer.The last time I was in Germany was 6 years ago.The first time I went in January 2001 for vacation.Abaout 7 months later my Mom died and I went back to attend her funeral. My parents are divorced for many years. While I still was over there in Germany my Step-mom died only one week after my Mom's funeral.I eventually came back over here but I've never been back to Germany.I have a sister here who lives in New York but I have never been there. We talk on the phone a lot.Than I have another sister here in GA -Hinesville.She was just here on Thanksgiving. My husband's family are in New Orleans.
I am very happy to getting to know you.You are a very nice person :)

Thank you Maria, I think we are the only one's up. But alot of the girls have to get up and go to work. Thanks for your e-mail, and you seem like a very sweet person. I use to never mess with the computer until I found this board. or web site. My sister in law that has cancer told me about this board about 3 months ago. She knew that I like to chat, but so much of the stuff out there on computers, you can't believe the other person chatting. But this board seems real. And, alot of the girls have been on the boards for 5 and 6 years. I put your e-mail in my address book.
It wonderful that you have a sister close. I am an only child, I do have half and step brothers and sisters. But I really don't think that's like real. Unless you were raised together and we wern"t.
Do you have any hobbies?

Hello Shelia ,
Sorry I went to bed and tried to sleep but after about 2 hours I went back up because I can't sleep. This had not happened since 1 year agao.It scares me because I don't won't to fall into depression again. My husband went to work about 1 hour agao.I layed on my sofa and still could not sleep.Grrrrrrrrrrr.The TV is on so I hear sombody talking. It is still dark outside. I don't like the dark.
Yes I have a few hobbies.I love to listen to my music.I read lots of books. The computer is my number 1 hobbie. I call my best friend in Germany 3-4 times every week.I love to talk on the phone. I like to watch good movies.I also like to write.Oh and I like to play Zuma Game.My husband bought it for me online.I love it ,it is a very cool game :)
I would love traveling....but you know money lol
Do you have any hobbies ? I will lay down again and try to sleep.Talk to you later.
