The animal control officer was here AGAIN, because they got another complaint that the dogs did not have food and water.

I feel for ya. I was on the other side of this....I am not one to meddle in other peoples business because my OWN life would not hold up to scrutiny, but I had come back from vacation and the neighbors dog was chained in the back yard and I didn't see any food or water, but I figured SOMEONE was coming over to rectify that situation so I gave it another day....that was too long, the dog was dead the next morning.
I ALSO have an Akita that when he gets pissed off enough he just breaks the fence pickets off at the bottom and runs off. I can't afford chain link, much less chain link heavy enough that he wouldn't just rip through it too....and they have JUST started making fence pickets heavy enough that he can't break them, but I can't afford to replace the whole fence at this time....especially since the fence is only 1 yr old.
Anyway, I guess what I am getting at is I can feel for ya on nosy neighbors as I had a move or tow ticket on my project car ON THE DAY AFTER I MOVED IN, that I had parked in the street becuase the garage was full of our stuff that we had stuck in there until we could get it moved into the house. Same neighbor called code compliance on grass too long after 3 solid weeks of rain every other day and rain all weekend and the lawn never dried out enough TO mow. Yet I can also sympathize a tad with calling for no food or water for a neighbors pets, BUT if I saw that the only time the dogs were outside was to do their business I wouldn't be worried.
Either way, good luck and just be careful about escalating a war with the neighbors.
