last night ds and i were driving home from the local skate park. we arrived at a traffic light that all 4 lanes were red. i was in one of the lanes that was going straight. ds said something that totally distracted me to the point that when the 2 left hand turn lane arrows turned green i proceeded to go through my light, which was still red. by the time i realized what was happening it was too late to back up because the people behind me had already pulled up so i had to keep going. but something as trivial as my son asking me a question should not, and never has in the past, distract me to the point i was last night. it makes me very nervous driving my bus because now we're back in school.

I do think part of this could be meds, but I don't remember everything you are on.

Do you have vacation or sick days offered thru work?

I don't think I'm the only one thinking that right now, there is no way you should be driving a school bus...of all things !

Hi Traci,

This is so scary. I am glad you weren't in a major accident. I think i/p is the best benefit for you at this point. It looks to me if you don't get intensive treatment soon you will hurt someone.

I agree with Donna, your tdoc needs to be teaching coping skills, not just sitting there listening to your troubles and not being active in showing you how to deal with these issues. I know when I went i/p a couple times I always learned coping skills in there and they help a great deal. i/p is not a prison sentence like some would like to think, though I am sure there are some not to good hospitals out there. i/p will help you !!!

By you trying to be there for everyone else and letting yourself go is only making it impossible for you to be there for them in the future. YOU HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF YOU FIRST !!!!!!!!!

I really wish you the strength to fight for yourself and get the help you need.

Do you have mental health or bipolar support groups in your area? You live in VA and you probably do. Check it out with local hospitals and behavior centers. The groups help to with learning how to cope and talking to people with the same issues.

Lots of love and hugs sent your way.

Tina
