I've been reading "The Bipolar Handbook" by Wes Burgess, M.D., Ph.D.

It seems to be a very well written Q&A styled book.

One thing it mentions, that I didn't know before, is that narcotic medicines can trigger an episode (usually depression).

Having just recovered from Tubal Ligation Laproscopy, I was on Lortab for about a week. And looking at my mood charts I see a dip in mood in the days following the precedure. Interesting....

So I'm wondering: Have any of you personally noticed an episode (of either pole) being caused by medicine, herb, or substance?

I don't remember being worse after lartab other than going through withdrawal. BUT I wasn't charting my moods at the time. But I don't remeber being depressed at those times.
