BP and disability

I was just curious about Disability for the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder. I know Disability is evaluated on a case by case basis, but was curious if anyone had any experience or knowledge about it? Such as if people are more often approved or denied with BP as the disability vs. say a physical disability or another mental illness. Then if someone with BP did file for disability, are they picked apart and grilled to the point of madness where you just withdraw the application and run?

I didn't experience being picked apart, just denied time after time (although that's pretty common for any claim).

I qualified for SSI and SSDI only with bp, and better, it was on the first try with no ugly lawyer involved. That was one case in which I was blessed!

I didn't find it that bad. I sent in my medical records, spent 2 hours with their shrink and got approved the first time(I can't believe I didn't have to appeal, it seems like most people do). The sheer amount of the paperwork was a bit overwhelming(esp as I was in a bad depression)but there was no picking apart or grilling, I liked their pdoc so much I would use him as my doctor if he took private patients. I heard from a social worker that bipolar is one of the easiest things to get approved for, up there with AIDS and organ transplant patients.
