I have heard a few things and wanted to check with you all about it.
1. You have to be unemployed for 1 year prior to filing for disability.
2. You have to remain unemployed.
My ? are:
1. Do you have to be unemployed for 1+yr to file for disability?
2. Do you have to remain unemployed, or can you work so long as you don't make over a certain amount?
2b. if you can work, just not earning more than a certain amount, What is that amount?
3. Would the fact that I am attending a tradeschool tech. college semi-successfully (all A's) immediately lead them to presume that I function well enough to work successfully? I did have to take A Leave of Absence from the tech. school due to my decompensating at the end of last semester. I have a doctors letter to the school stating that I was "in his medical opinion unable to function as a student".
4. Is there a 'necessary level of severity', such as hospitalizations etc required to get disability?
--edited to add--
5. Could my spouses income disqualify me for disability?
6. Could my great insurance (which I have through my husband) disqualify me for disability?

I just found a great site online that answered all my questions and more! Can work, limit is 900.00, yadda yadda yadda.
Thanks everyone for the answers on the first thread! If anyone wants/needs the website, lemme know. I forgot to save it in history, but hopefully I'd be able to navigate back to it.

Don't remember if I said anything about this before--my memory is really shot right now.
