I don't know what to do or think

Ok, so I'm trying to see SOMEONE...whether it be "psychiatric nurse", my Dh's Dr. friend who is a OB/GYN, M.D, and a PH.D, or someone just someone that the mental health portion of our insurance will cover.

The pdoc my tdoc wanted me to see said that they were going to do a "one-time" contract with my mental health insurance (Magellan), so ok..I don't have the 1500 to shell out before the 50% will kick in.....so I start trying to find someone else...

So I call the PN and they don't have any openings until 4-5, so I'm trying to get my DH to call his friend...better luck having my 2.5yr old to do it...anyway....

So, today, i'm sitting here looking online, trying once again to get ahold of the PN, and get a voicemail. Then I get a phone call, answer it, and it's Magellan, my mental health coverage people....and they said that all the paper work was done and filled out, and that they had authorized 10 visits with the original pdoc....So my thoughts of course, are you know, wow, that's great finally a light at the end of the tunnel...so i call the original pdoc, and told them what the other lady had just told me....

Their response, "ya, we're not going to accept it, we've had issues with them before, and we're just not going to deal with them, so the only option you have is to pay up front, and hopefully they will re-imburse you..."

Are you freakin kidding me...for starters, the town I live in is aprox 9,000 people big...all the "main" hospitals are over in the valley, which coincidently is where all the county stuff is....an hr and a half away....and most of the DRs here, if their not private like my Tdoc is....are under the same group...for here and there....And, the pdoc is the only one here in town..I mean she's not really in town, but she comes over once a month for her patients here.

Sorry if this is long and makes no sense whatsoever...I just needed to vent.....

Hugs Nessa. I don't know what to suggest at all :( Is there any possibility of another pdoc not too far away (of course, "too far" being a relative term) from you that'll accept your insurance? I was going to say try a wholistic doctor, maybe you could find one that would have a sliding scale or allow you to make payments, but I have a feeling with your description of your area, there really won't be a wholistic doctor. I hope something works out for you :)
