I'll go first--I'm Marci in Kansas City, Missouri.
I share my 100+ yo house, with my DD-Jennifer (who will be 20 tomorrow!) and my 8 month old grandson, Bryan (who is the light of my life!), along with 2 dogs and a cat.
I live in pittsburgh, PA I am a married mother of 5 children. I homeschool my 6yr old, and work part time as a waitress. I was Dx'd with bipolar about a month ago. I am still learning about it and am trying to cope.
Thanks and I am glad I found this board...Take care Jenn
Hi everyone! Haven't been around since Nov/Dec last year - a lot going on.
Your name- Kelli
Where you live - east coast of central FL
Since last on boards: have gotten divorced, remarried and now no longer have to work so have been playing house. Trying to sell new dh's house and move closer to my 8 yo dd who is temporarily living with xh till this school year ends. Life has greatly, greatly improved although, try as I might, I still cannot control every little thought and mood swing. Meds are still working so that helps too. Luckily, new dh is familiar with bp and knows how to handle it (Thank Gawd).
Originally dx'd BP I in 1984 at age 17, re-dx'd June of 06 as BP II.
Hope to be around on a regular basis again and see what's up with everybody!
My name is Peg and I live in eastern PA. I have a loving dh of 16 years, a ds (9) who has Asperger's, AD/HD and bp, and a dd (4). I was officially dx'd BP-I in July '06 but I have had symptoms since I have been a teen (more than 20 years).
I was diagnosed with Bipolar II in January 2005 -- so that's 2 years ago.
Currently the meds I'm on (Welbutrin, Remeron, Lithium, & Invega--just switched from Risperdal) seem to be keeping me from having major mood swings. I'm still having episodes though so I'm still leery of having a bad one. It's like I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I'm a married 32 yo woman with three kids. I was dx'd as Bipolar just over 4 years ago.
I'm currently taking 200 mg of Lamictal and 120 mg of Strattera daily.
I still cycle regularly (usually coincides with my menstrual cycle), but it's manageable. Much easier to handle weekly cycling than daily or hourly. I've gotten pretty good at realizing what's happening and am able to contact my Dr about it.
Hi MC or Brenda here I live in the panhandle of Texas I was DXd BP II less than a month ago. I originally thought it was just major depression. My DH (TK or txknight) is also BP as is our DS (16). DS is also epileptic. We have a DD(8) who is also epileptic and is developmentally delayed as well as speech delayed. I originally started coming here to help spouses/so of BP people usually per DH's request but now I also come for support for myself. I also lurk/post on the child bp board.
beachluvvinmama pointed me here sometime last yr from the mis-matched libido's board
DW already listed our children and their difficulties.
I was dx'd bp in '99 or '00 (somewhere in there), but after much reading and thinking back I have been eobp since the age of 7 and had the high sex drive from since I can remember (LITERALLY).
Hello, my name is Jessie (called Jess). I live in Central FL, I am married and I have one child, a son. Bipolar runs in the family: My eldest sister has Bipolar I, my next to the oldest has bipolar with schizoaffective disorder. I was dx'd December 23, 2006 by a pdoc as Bipolar, rapid cycling. I know I have had this my whole life. I take Wellbutrin SR (generic) 150 mg, and Lamictal 150 mg (soon to be 200 mg). I am mostly stable these days, thanks to the Lamictal.
