Hi! How are you all today? I am doing doing okay today. The sun is shining and my kids were behaving themselves before school without fighting. So that made the morning just awesome! :)

My illness with Bipolar Disorder is Bipolar II with rapid cycling. I also have an eating disorder, of which I've had since my preteen years (I'm now 37- ugh! wrinkles are beginning to sneak in!), and agoraphobia/social anxiety disorder. Needless to say, I'm a mental nightmare at times. Social events are my worst feared thing on the planet, and totally dread attending any function if possible- but my DH usually makes me go if I like it or not.

DH and I have two little boys who are in first grade. They are not brothers, as we adopted them back in 2001.

I am a stay-at-home-mom/wife. Due to the effects of the meds, I am not able to work in general. They have effected my cognative abilities severely. Years ago, I held down a nice office job- and now I am not able to even do simple addition. :( Darn meds! My seven year olds can add better than I can.

Have a happy day!

Hi Javanow!

I'm Xyro. I'm 31, married, and have a 7yr old (step)daughter in 1st grade!

I was recently diagnosed with Bipolar II with rapid cycling, agoraphobia/social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder.

I'm currently a SAHM too because of the overwhelming stress of working outside the home. I'm working on getting a job that I can do completely from home. I will be earning only ONETHIRD my previous salary, but at least I will have an income whereas right now I am not making any money at all.

Great to meet you, looks like we have some stuff in common, with the Dx's, 7yr olds, and such. I look forward to seeing you on the boards!

Hi Julie and welcome aboard:) It sounds like you have your hands full with two 7 yo ds's. I've got 3 kids 17,13 & 10 and they keep me hopping and have for several years.

It sounds as though you're in a good place right now and that's great! Just keep thinking positively:) I can't relate to the social anxiety or the eating disorder, but can imagine, based on what I've read, what a nightmare they can be.

I'm sorry that your DH forces you to go to functions when he knows what it does to you. My XH never could understand me and my mood swings and he still doesn't get it. My oldest DD is currently in the hospital because of her bp and xh says it's only for attention. Grrrrr! If he only had a clue, but I'm not holding my breath for that one.

I'm glad you had a good day today though. Post here as often as you want/need to. We are always around and will support you and,

Hi Marci

Thank you for your kind post.

I've been forever trying to accomplish little tasks around the house for the past week and it seems that nothing is getting done here. Busy, running here there and everywhere- oh, and then add on being BP! Distracted.

Your craft business sounds very intriguing and interesting. What a great feeling of accomplishment and confidence to do such a thing in oneslife. :) You should feel very good about yourself for doing the craft business.

Social butterfly. Yes; been there too. And, my friends wonder what on earth happened to that person I once was. Now I'm a complete introvert. The opposite. LOL Oh well. That is the drugs, and fact of fearing the dx.

Your grandson is so lucky to have a grandmother like you who can spoil him with so much love and joy. That is what grandparents are for, and so much more.

Take care and have a great evening!

Xyro

Thank you Xyro for responding to my post. :)

Hi! Wow, I didn't know that there was someone out there on the planet who could relate to all of those symptoms and what be not issues! ugh! Doesn't it just drive you up the wall thinking about it all?

Well, as for the seven year olds, they are sometimes quite a handful right now. Mine are into learning some new words that should not be in their vocabularly, and that is not a fun thing at the current moment. Ick. Guess that time was soon to come! Sooner than expected.

Has your step daughter ever had her teachers read to her the Junie B. Jones books or the Ramona books? If not, you have to check them out at the library. They are hilarious! It is hard to read them sometimes because they are so funny. A series not to read is- Captain Underpants. My boys had me 'buy' some of those books. I didn't know what they were about, and they were 'very funny' but taught the boys obnoxious name calling stuff that they repeated for a few weeks and drove us nuts. Anyway, I could talk endless about that stuff....as well as the BP issues.

What types of jobs are you looking for in regards to from home? Do you know that some companies have Customer Service Reps that are Internet Representatives? I used to work as an Internet Customer Service Representative and did the job from home for a while. There are also computer testing jobs-at home testers- for insurance business/large banks/etc. There are some of those jobs that can be done from home- they just aren't always mentioned in the want ads. A person must go to the HR to find more information out about the details. Just trying to give you some help. There are also personal shoppers too.

Take care of yourself and have a terrific evening.

Hi Traci

:) Thank you for taking time to respond to my post as you have so much going on in your life right now.

I'm sorry to hear that your DD is in the hospital right now. That has to be very strenuous on you as a mom. Just can't imagine. And you too, have BP as well? If you do, gosh, what strength you have as a person!

Your XH must have no common sense with this BP stuff. I'm sorry he doesn't get it. Some people are just not wise and they will never get it. I have many in my family that way.

Thank you for explaining the posting. I will do my best to post accordingly.

Have a good evening and do what you can to get some rest.

Hugs

Julie
