I just realized that I haven't taken my meds in 4 DAYS!!! I didn't even think of it once during that time! I have had it with my worthless memory! I'd loose my head if it weren't screwed on! I am sooo tired of my swiss cheese brain!
Does anyone else have problems remembering their meds? Any tips to help me remember? Can my doctor prescribe anything to help with memory loss?

I hate it when that happens! I manage to remember usually by mid day because I will feel very sick without them, I think it is the lithium that does it to me. But still it messes me up! I have found that it helps to have my pills all sorted out in a days of the week pill container and I keep it where I KNOW I will see it in the morning. I make sure when I get my clothes together I throw it on top of them BEFORE my shower or I will definitely forget! I have a small pill bottle (like the child proof pharmacy kind) on my computer desk (since I spend SO much time on it! LOL) so I take my days worth of pills and put them (all except the AM pills) into the container. If I am going some where and I think I may be there for supper (my next dose) then I put those ones in my pocket, I tend to put my hands in my pockets a lot so that works for me. So basically it is keeping them where you will SEE them. Or if you have little ones that know how to work the child proof pill containers you might just try putting little notes where you know you will see them, like the computer monitor etc...something like TAKE MEDS in bold letters, bright colors help them to jump out so you don't over look it. I know people who have used the alarm on their cell phone to remind them...like during the day when you are busy.
Hope some of these ideas help! Good luck,
Judy
My dh also has major memory challenges, and it's so frustrating for him. What seems to have worked for him as far as his meds go is making it a part of his routine. . .like in the morning, it's part of his washing up, brushing teeth, etc. routine. We seem to be creatures of habit, so that's worked well over here. In the beginning we sorted his meds into the seven-day a.m./p.m. containers.
Good luck--
Heidi
