do a roll call? LURKERS TOO! I feel new here all over again and I don't know anyone!
I'm Keli. 36 yrs old, and live in Tallahassee, Florida. I LOVE FLORIDA! I have a dh, and a 16 yr old son, and a doggy! I work in budget management for the State and have been there for 19 years. I'm a recovered borderline, have BP, and am stable on meds. I took many many years and a million different meds, but it happened.
Tell me something about you!

Hi keli, (is that pronounced kelly?) Great idea! I know there are a lot of newbies here. (me included)
So I currently live in santa monica but grew up in the midwest. I'm 37, single :-(
I work as a chef but my hours are event driven and not regular, and not enough.
A few years back I left my cozy teaching job to pursue my 'passion' (ugh, hate that word now). I'm still glad I made the leap but it's been hard. I've been treating my bp since my mid-twenties, to varying degrees of success.
It seems almost everyone here is married w/ kids. I'm sure it's not all rosy but I have to make an effort not to feel sorta sad. But I look/feel/act youngish and am hopeful. I left my boyfriend (kept the heart) in S.F. last summer and really haven't reached out to anyone here yet, boyfriends or otherwise.
In fact, recently I've let things go to the point where i rarely leave the apt, and oh, so dread it when i do. I've been here before(emotionally) but don't remember all those words of wisdom I thought I had absorbed at the time. Basically I'm scared and I'm not doing a thing about it. wow, i finally said it out loud, sort of.
I appreciate the invite to talk about myself a bit.
thanks
S
Keli, good idea! Since I am a newbie here it will be nice to "meet" some of the others on the board.
I'm 53. I have a DH, 2 DSs, 36 and 32, and DD is 23. Have 4 grandkids ranging from 6 months to 7 years (twins).
I've been in horses almost my entire life and own and operate a horse farm. I am also a riding instructor.
I've suffered from depression for 25+ years and was recently Dx'd as bp. I'm glad I found this board because I had a hard time swallowing that Dx and I have tons of questions.
I'm currently not on meds, but have been on most of the A/Ds you can name over the years. None really worked.
I'm ready to find a pdoc, get on a mood stabilizer and go from there. When I turned 50 (that's not possible! lol) I began to realize that most of my life had been spent depressed/anxious/irritated and I want to do something to make the next stage of my life better. Plus my depression was so bad this winter, I knew I had to do something before another winter goes by.
Like S, I tend to isolate myself on the farm (horses tie you down more than kids) and get to the point where even going to the grocery store is unthinkable - and I'm scared, too. I am very fortunate to have a DH who will go to the store for me, and a best friend of 40+ years, who reads my moods pretty well and will drag me out of the house, sometimes kicking and screaming. The bad thing is I just found out this winter that she and her DH will be retiring out of state in a year or so and that scares the crap (can I say that?) out of me and made my depression even worse.
I think I have rambled on long enough, that's about it.

I am Beth, 34, outside of Toronto. I also have a DH- our first anniversary is approaching...May 13th.
I am a musician, and am looking for work. Don't musicians spend a lot of time looking for work?
If I still lived in the states, work would not be a problem. I'd be able to teach in most states with my NY teaching certificate. But, DH wants to live here! The sacrifices we make...
Express!

I'm tk, live in TX....eobp since 7 yr old, self dx'd about 8 yrs ago when DS was dx'd, medicated about a yr now and am pretty stable. DW, 18 anniversary in May, two kids DS (16) and DD (8), two dogs and a cat. Work in the aviation industry. I think that is about it.

hi karla here.. just dx'ed in feb as bp2.
I'm Peg, I have a dh of 16 years, a ds (9) and a dd (4) and we live in PA. I was "officially" dx'd BP I last July and have been trying to find the right med combo for me ever since. I've suffered from BP symptoms since I was a teenager, but didn't seek a dx until things got too tough for me to handle without meds.
Marci here, 53 living in now frigid Kansas City, MO (where we had snow flurries this AM--what happened to Spring?).
I am Tina and live in Maryland. I am 39, I have a dd 17.
