Tired of being tired
| Mon, 05-07-2007 - 1:54pm |
Everyday I am tired. I wake up and I am tired. I want to go back to sleep but can't sleep, yet I am so tired. It takes everything in me to take a shower and fix my hair. After I am done doing that I am ready for a nap. I feel like I have been drugged sometimes.
Hey, could this be depression...I am thinking I am very depressed.
Tina

((((((Tina)))))) It does sound to me like you could be depressed. I get very blue during PMS - my mood drops dramatically and it seems like I have to muster up every ounce of energy that I have to wake up and go to work.
What helps me is staying busy during the day. I can be dragging in the morning but go out and exercise at lunch, and then I come back to work feeling more energetic and rejuvenated. I also try to go to bed earlier when I get like this.
I can definitely relate. I'm sorry and I hope you will find something to help get you out of this slump.
Thanks Ting,
I wish I could sleep better. I am having a hard time sleeping good. I sleep about 4-6 hours a night and drag all day. Yesterday I did dose off a couple times during the day but only for 15 minutes or so at a time and I just can't get the rest I need to feel refreshed.
Hopefully this will pass soon.

I know how you feel...BOY do I! I have felt that way for weeks. There have been many days that I would rather sleep than eat. It has been a big chore just to get into the bathtub and get cleaned up. I absolutely know I'm depressed. At least I'm not alone.

Tina,
It could be depression, but it could also be due to anemia or thyroid levels.
(((((Tina))))) As everyone else has already said, this could be depression. But, as was also suggested it could be a physical thing. I know for me I have been tired for days on end but I made up for that this past Sunday. I slept for 14 hours. Of course when I woke up I felt like my day had been wasted and that brought me down a little bit, but I didn't let it get the best of me.
Like Ting said, try to go outside and exercise a little, even if it's just a walk around your area. That usually helps. I know yesterday I was tired but then I went outside and mowed the front yard and felt better afterwards. Of course I still have the back to do which is a lot bigger than the front and I'm not looking forward to that...lol.
Marci also suggested it could be a medical thing. Maybe you should think about getting your med levels checked and/or increase your iron intake. Your gp doc should be able to tell if that's what it is.
Whatever it is, I hope you are feeling better soon. I've been there done that several times before with the depression and it's no fun. If you are feeling depressed then maybe you should call your pdoc and see what he has to say.
Take care and keep us posted. We're here to help.
Hugs,
Traci
