Hi :)
I guess I can start by giving a background on myself. I am 23 and have had depression for as long as I can remember. I used to take Wellbutrin and Celexa (on seperate occasions) but about 2-3 years ago stopped because I felt like medication wasn't helping me. In

It's entirely possible to be depressed most of the time and only experience hypomania or mania every so often-the times between cycles can very by the person and even within one person.
Yes, definitely check out the symptom lists on the sites cl-kcisis recommended.
You may also want to fill out a "checklist" of sorts to take to your next doctor appointment. Sometimes doctors (well, in my experience) tend to make you feel as if you're actually backing their day up. Don't let that happen. You made an appointment and you have just as much right to sit there as his next patient does. However, because of this, it's sometimes hard to "remember" or concentrate on what you want to tell your doctor. The checklists help.
I blogged about these checklists not too long ago (http://www.mentalhealthnotes.com/?p=22) if you want to check it out. There are links related to BP, depression, mood disorders, and moods in general.
Hope that helps!
