Well, for the last six weeks or so, maybe even since February off and on, I have been going through a depressive episode. It was getting so I thought it would never end. I was seeing my GP for it, and bless his heart, he referred me to a pdoc, but I couldn't go to the pdoc because the lovely Ontario govt. will not mail me a health card even though I have been eligible for coverage since March 15th. Lo and behold however, a few days ago, I started to feel better. I even went out and had my nails done- some might see that as an unecessary extravagance, but to me, it was an accomplishment.
But that very night...
Right after I ate dinner, my stomach started killing me. I had been having little stomach pains after I ate for about a week and even mentioned it to my GP, but we both thought it was just the depression. This time it didn't go away. So, I had my DH take me to the ER. All night they pumped me full of drugs, but the pain did not go away. In the morning, they gave me an ultrasound, and three and a half very tired hours later, they told me I had a gallstone and needed surgery. I'm supposed to have my GP schedule it tomorrow. I only hope he can work around the wedding gig I have coming up. Sigh.

Oh my, my thoughts and prayers are with you! It's strange you should mention this, because I went through the same kind of pain about a week ago, and it lasted for a week. My mom suggested gallstones; I don't have health insurance and haven't been to the doctor yet.
I hope you feel better until the surgery, and are 100% cured afterward! Keep us posted. *hugs*

I'm sorry you have to deal with this on top of everything else and certainly hope the surgery can be worked around the wedding gig you have.
