NOTHING!!! No contractions no nothing. I have scads of family from Florida and Alaska that came to see little Keeley and they all have to leave the middle of next week and STILL NOTHING. Looks like they might not get to see her at all. I am really upset about my mother in law from Alaska since she flew 5000 miles for NOTHING. I am off work (have been for two weeks) because my blood pressure went up so I am burning up the little maternity leave I have. I only get four weeks maternity leave at 66% of my salary too and here I have already burned up two. I may have to refinance to try to keep my house. My OB is NOT sympathetic and refuses to induce. I am ready to pull my hair out. Acid reflux is so bad I throw up at least once a day. I go for an ultrasound today and fetal non stress test but the baby seems to be quite happy in there so I don't think anything will come of it. So depressing! And let me say none of the old wives tales work for me. My uterus has hardly conracted at all the whole pregnancy so it's probably thinking why should it start contracting now?? I feel like I am going to be pregnant forever!
Just had to vent!

I know it is frustrating when you just want the baby here already. The thing is you can have the baby 2 weeks before the due date or 2 weeks after. Anytime within that period. Most babies don't come on thier due date. I know it is hard with having family there waiting for the little one to come.

I don't understand why you have so little maternity leave...most employers have to give 3 months. Why is yours different?

Hang in there, I am sure you will go in labor soon. Did you talk about a c-section at the beginning with your OB? I know some docs will do that under certain circumstances for family to be there but it has to be planned a good deal ahead of time. So the OR can be scheduled.

Best wishes for a healthy baby and try to relax as much as you can. Alot of the acid reflux is probably coming from stress and being anxious.

Hugs,

Tina

I swear I work for Gestapo Headquarters! They are horrible. They even send out nasty letters telling you they will not pay any of your benefits if you are not working full time. So if you want to keep your insurance going you have to pay for it yourself. Fortunately I am covered under DH's policy thru the federal gov't. The baby is so low that once I finally do go into labor she should pop out easily. I lost my mucus plug Wednesday but no contrations. I just went for a walk and still nothing. Just discovered a liter of tiny kittens in my ditch at the end of my driveway was about all I accompolished. Cute little things.
Today is a full moon-maybe something will happen tonite.

(((((Jodie))))),

Babies definitely have a mind of their own and I think the dance they do coming early or late is just to prepare us that THEY are calling the shots whether we want to believe it or not.

Losing the plug is a good sign, maybe the poking and prodding during the ultrasound will make her decide it's time to come out and say hi.
