I don't know about this...

Folks, I just saw a news report in Buffalo, though I don't know what to think about it. It seems there was an Amber alert on a girl who was kidnapped by her mother and was found in the Buffalo area. I thought it odd that there would be an Amber alert on a girl who was merely taken in a custody battle, like she was. Reason for this alert? It seemed the girl's mother had "a history of mental illness", hearing voices, etc. Now, we all know that these people are often unfit parents, but I think we all ALSO know that that is not always the case! Even I have a history of auditory hallucinations, yet I have taught successfully in the classroom, as well as shown other signs of responsibility.
Yurg:/!
And BTW, the girl was found with her mother, safe.

It really bothers me when I see/hear things like that on the news. I have to shake my head and quickly move on to watching something else before I think too much about how people with a mental illness are often portrayed.
