Mixed episodes? (poss. triggers)

What does a mixed episode feel like? Symptoms of both mania and depression at the same time, right?
The past couple days I've had almost as much energy as when I'm hypomanic but no other hypomania symptoms and also felt depressed. Then today and yesterday especially I was sooooooo depressed. All I could do was cry, couldn't function well at work, told DH I wanted to die, told my family I was committing suicide etc.
Half way through my day today I started to just feel better. It's so weird. Is this a mixed episode? I've been feeling both highs/lows for about a week.... past episode was hypomanic in the end of June.
Thanks for the help!

This sounds like my mood cycles when I have mixed episodes, So I would say that you are experiencing mixed episodes.
Unfortunately I can't offer any suggestions to deal with these mixed episodes because I have not been able to get mine under control.
When I do I will share my methods so that you can try them on for size. Hopefully some of them will fit

Hey shortnquirky, to answer one of your questions, in my own personal experience, the mood cycles can go from close together to far apart and vice - versa.
That's exactly what my mixed episodes are like, which is why I didn't get the bipolar diagnosis for a long time.
Thanks for your reply!
I used Clomid for 4 months around last Christmas. The moods were just like PMS, no extreme moods.

As long as you're seeing a pdoc, I'm sure he'll be able to catch the signs if it's having a negative effect on you.
Sorry, used to the child bp board where we all know what that means.
