Wow!! Thats awesome Roni!!!! Congratulations!!!
Heres my story-
I was living in the USA with H, and was there as a tourist, and with Kip working full time, I had way too much time on my hands, so I went to the library, and discovered the very cool redbook magazine, so I borrowed as many as I could(over a period of a few weeks)and in it I found the website for women.com, so I looked at it, and became a member and posted frequently on the message boards, and then the merging of websites..and here i am today!
I dont remember how I came across you specifically though Roni, but you have helped me out over the years, and have become a great friend!
:)
You rule!
I found iVillage while a friend and I were arguing about something - I don't even remember what it was, but there was some question about feminism.

I am so happy to have you here! I love this board and all the information I know I can get here. Plus I can't beat all the funny posts and stories! I love it here!
I found iVillage by accident on July 3rd, 2003. My two furball cats were driving me and the BF crazy at night by meowing at the door. I was looking for a pet psychic or something to that effect when I stumbled across the "Think Like a Cat" message board (no longer around) which was hosted by Pam Bennett-Johnson, feline behaviourist. She helped us out, I stuck around talking about my cats and slowly ventured out to the rest of iVillage.
I didn't have any reservations about chats..but being on the opposite side of the world limits when I cam make it to chats..
Hi Karen!!!
congratulation on your awesome anniversary, I hope you will celebrate with a great meal!
My story is as follow:
In Feb. 1996, I moved to the US from Switzerland with my baby daughter (4 months old), to follow my then husband. I immediately loved the place, the lifestyle, the opportunities... but it was tough, as a professional, to spend my time as a SAHM (never been much at patience) and I grew bored. I started reading tons, and worrying about how my little one would learn languages, and how I could deal with all the parenting issues. So, I went online (I had cable already, blissful thing, in Cambridge, MA), and started plodding around. Guess what? I found Parentsoup.com, that merged soon after into IVillage.
I had there my e-mail for years and years - with my real name, Chiara@ivillage.com. I loved it! Then, during some site re-hauling, I lost the email, and did not subscribe for the paying service...
In the meanwhile, my daughter grew up. I got very ill, then well again. I went back to work. I split from my husband. I moved back to Europe.
But over all these changes, I still haunt these places. I never volonteered for CL - not much time nowadays... but I know that life is long and that there are lots of opportunities down the road. WHo knows!!!
I love your food forum, Karen. food is a great equalizer, and a fantastic luxury at the same time. And I really like to read of your approach to some foods (even if mine, living far away, is sometimes different).
Hugs. Have fun. Enjoy your food. And smile.
Chiara
Mel, I don't recall how I bumped into you, either, but I am so glad that I did!
I remember meeting you, Heather, on a CL team board, and I cannot recall what clicked between us, but I can guarantee it was something funny.
Wow, Chiara, you have been hanging out about as long as I have!
Congratulations on your eight years!
